Carlos del Junco. Carlos del Junco is a renowned Cuban-Canadian harmonica musician. He specializes in playing the ten hole diatonic harmonica. He was taught to play chromatically by using a "overblow" technique taught to him by Howard Levy, a jazz virtuoso. He has been performing professionally since the 1980s and is a 7 time winner of the Toronto Blues Society's Maple Leaf Blues Award for Harmonica Player of the Year. To date, he has released 6 CDs. He has toured Canada regularly since 1996 and tours often in Germany and the United States and has played all the major jazz, blues, and folk festivals across Canada. Tickets are $15 per person. |
